A Quick Way to Remove Hail Dents, Door Dings and Other Soft Dents on Vehicles Using the Inductor® Pro-Max Induction Heater & U-111 PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) Baton

The Inductor PDR Baton is an optional heating attachment that allows technicians to remove soft dents by heating the panel behind the paint from the outside of the panel, relieving the stress holding the dent. This reduces the size of the dent significantly or eliminates it all together (metal composition dependent). This reduces labor and materials spent on traditional PDR or eliminates the need to outsource it.

How Does It Work?

The PDR Baton works as an extension of the Inductor Series, which is a powerful 2,000 watt, 120V line of induction heaters, which uses flameless heat to easily remove a variety of hardware and components.

Unlike traditional PDR or paintless dent removal, the flameless heat created by induction heating is the cleanest and fastest way for fixing hail dents, door dings and other minor soft dents. There is no need to meticulously massage out from the backside of vehicle panels, especially in hard-to-reach areas, or areas difficult to get behind.  The result is a clean dent repair in a fraction of the time compared to a conventional PDR tool.

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) Induction Heating Process 

Step-by-Step Instructions

Equipment Needed: heat resistant gloves, overalls, goggles.

Step 1: Attach the PDR Baton to the Inductor Pro-Max or Max.

Step 2: Set the power control knob to in-between the "Low" and "Max" settings. As your skill level increases, power can be increased to increase job efficiency.

Step 3: Step on the foot switch to turn the power ON.

Step 4: Holding the PDR Baton against the metal, move it in a small circular motion and gradually bring it closer to the dent, but keeping it around the outside of the crown of the dent.

Step 5: As soon as the dent shrinks, back the PDR Baton away quickly and cool the treated dent with a damp rag or ice and wipe dry. If the dent sucks in, you are heating the crown or not far enough around the outside of the crown. Repeat the procedure until removed completely.

Tip: Once a puff of smoke releases from the dent immediately remove the PDR Baton from the area. This is the point at which the paint will start to bubble. Also be careful on white and light colored finishes, these lighter paints tend to yellow sooner than darker colors.

Trouble Shooting: If the dent doesn't seem to shrink, it may be because there is a crease in the metal or the metal has been stretched too far.
