25 Years of Heat, Precision, and Ingenuity

For 25 years, Induction Innovations has been redefining how the pros work with heat. What began as one technician’s solution to a common problem has become a trusted name across industries, an enduring symbol of American craftsmanship, safety, and reliability.

The Early Years: One Problem, One Big Idea

In 2000, collision repair veteran Tom Gough saw a need that most in his field had simply learned to live with. After nearly three decades in vehicle repair, he knew the frustration of using open-flame torches, slow, unpredictable, and often unsafe. He believed there had to be a better way.

That conviction led to the creation of the Inductor® Series model: a tool that replaced flame with controlled induction heat. Built by hand and tested in real workshops, it changed how technicians approached rusted bolts, adhesives, and corroded parts. In addition, the Mini-Ductor line came out in 2004 which would see more improvements along with a refined finish as the Mini-Ductor Venom series. What all started as a problem-solver soon became a new industry standard.

Those breakthroughs set the tone for everything to follow. In our 20th Anniversary look back, we revisited some earlier models that paved the way for today’s Inductor Series.

From Garage to Global Recognition: Induction Heating Innovations

The success of that first design led to a family of innovations that have shaped the company’s legacy. The Mini-Ductor® brought induction heat to the automotive market in a compact, portable format. The Inductor® 2000 and Pro-Max extended that same precision to collision professionals while the ALF3 Line is designed for heavy duty industrial work.

Each advancement grew from listening to professionals in the field and understanding what mattered most: safety, consistency, and control. Over time, these tools found homes in salvage yards, trucking and fleet maintenance, farming, marine, and industrial applications, all because they solved the same universal challenge: working with heat safely and efficiently.

A Family-Owned Company, Built in the USA

Headquartered in Elgin, Illinois, just west of Chicago, Induction Innovations remains a proudly family-owned and operated company. Every product is made and assembled in the U.S., using genuine OEM parts and strict quality checks at every stage of production. That local craftsmanship ensures every unit shipped out performs exactly as intended.

The company’s small but dedicated team brings expertise and care to everything they build. Many employees have been with the company for years, helping maintain the same integrity and precision that defined the first Inductor®.

Safety and Ingenuity at the Core

Induction heating technology has always been about more than speed, encompassing enhanced safety, precision, and reliable flameless heating. By eliminating open flames, technicians reduce the risk of fire, damaged components, and workplace injuries. Localized, consistent heat means fewer variables, fewer surprises, and better outcomes every time.

That consistency has made induction heating a mainstay for professionals who value both performance and peace of mind.

A Legacy of Problem Solving, and What’s Next

Two and a half decades later, Induction Innovations stays true to its founding purpose and is answering the need of an evolving industry. The company continues to invest in research, engineering, and customer education, ensuring that every new generation of Inductor® and Mini-Ductor tools is smarter, safer, and more efficient than the last.
