Glass Blaster Induction Heater

By American Recycler

Induction Innovations, LLC has released the Inductor® Series Glass Blaster for fast, safe removal of automotive glass for recycling. The Inductor family of flameless heat tools empowers the technician to perform fast, safe removal of any glass panel bonded to metal and in most cases, without any damage to the part.

According to the company, any part adhered to metal with adhesives can be easily removed by heating the metal with a magnetic field from the Inductor Glass Blaster, which in turn softens the adhesive and releases its bond. Current passes from the Inductor, through the part in a highly centralized path, heating only the immediate area of the metal.

Unlike oxy/acetylene torches, the Inductor also allows operators to heat metal in tight areas without removing plastic parts that may be in close proximity to the area being heated. Cold metal can be instantly pre-heated to install adhesive stripes, moldings, etc., as well.

A number of today’s auto parts are held in place with adhesives. Many auto recyclers prepare vehicles for recycling by removing these parts, a time consuming but necessary step in maximum recovery of resources. The Inductor Glass Blaster renders much less effective, old techniques obsolete.
